Ultrasound
Ultrasonography (or ultrasound) is a medical image modality that allows for a painless, radiation-free visualisation of superficial structures of the foot. The podiatrist can study the plantar fascia, a variety of tendons and ligaments, and even the surface of bones. It may also be used for cortisone injections, making it a safer and more precise option.

Custom foot orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are prescribed after a thorough biomechanical examination from the podiatrist. They are part of a treatment plan established by the professional. This type of treatment might be recommended in cases of plantar fasciitis, heel spur, Morton’s neuroma, lower-back pain, knee pain and others.
Treatment of corn, calluses, toenails
The debridement of calluses is done using a scalpel and surgical blade. The procedure is painless. On the other hand, since the skin regenerates every month, the debridement must be repeated. Thicker or problematic toenails are also taken care of. The treatment plan is established based on each patient’s needs. In diabetic patients, a closer follow-up is recommended in order to avoid the onset of plantar ulcers under the calluses.
Ingrown toenail surgery
This minor procedure is called upon in cases of recurring and/or painful ingrown toenails and performed under local anaesthesia. It is a permanent solution with only a 5% recurrence risk. The convalescence is short. The podiatrist will evaluate the patient’s condition before suggesting this procedure.
Plantar warts
Plantar warts are benign skin lesions that present a rough and elevated surface. They are found especially on areas of the foot that are in contact with the ground. Highly contagious, they can easily multiply or spread to others. Contagion happens mostly on moist surfaces such as gyms, showers, poolside and spas. Many efficient treatments are offered at the clinic depending on the size and number of the lesions.
Laser therapy
Laser therapy is a painless treatment used to relieve foot pain. It is efficient in cases of plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, Morton’s neuroma and sprained ankles, for example. It decreases inflammation and locally increases blood-flow to allow the body to heal itself more quickly.
